An Inwood man has been charged with the beating death of his brother, Nassau police said.
Around 5:06 p.m. Monday, officers responded to a call at a Wahl Avenue residence, the Nassau County Police Department said in a news release. When they arrived, police found a 52-year-old man “unresponsive with visible blunt force trauma,” the release reads.
A Nassau police medic pronounced the victim dead at the scene, the department said.
The Nassau Police Homicide Squad determined “that a violent domestic incident had occurred between two brothers at the residence,” and police took Anthony Iacomino, 46, of Inwood, into custody.
On Tuesday, Iacomino pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder before District Court Judge Madeleine Petrara-Perrin at First District Court in Hempstead, according to court documents. He was remanded to the Nassau County jail and is due back in court on Thursday.
Kenneth St. Bernard, the defense attorney representing Iacomino, did not return a telephone message late Tuesday.
Iacomino also faces a misdemeanor charge — criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation — for an incident that occurred on Aug. 22, according to online court records.
He pleaded not guilty to that charge during a separate arraignment in August.
District Court Judge Lisa A LoCurto ordered him released on his own recognizance and issued a temporary order of protection. He has been scheduled to return to court for that matter on Oct. 31.
