Bellmore gas station held up by armed robber, cops say
A BP gas station in Bellmore was robbed in the early morning hours Tuesday by a man armed with a black handgun, Nassau police said.
At about 1:41 a.m., the suspect, whose face was covered by a black ski mask, displayed the firearm and demanded cash from the 49-year-old male cashier.
After getting an unknown amount of money, the robber fled north on Newbridge Road. No injuries were reported.
The robber, who was about 5 feet, 10 inches tall, also wore black gloves and a black T-shirt.
Anyone with information about the crime should call 800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
