Suffolk County police are looking for a red or burgundy sedan with possible driver’s side damage that may have been involved in a hit-and-run crash in Brentwood that killed a Bay Shore man, police said Sunday.

Police on Sunday released the identity of pedestrian Luis Felix Gomez-Cuji, 26, of Brook Street.

Gomez-Cuji was crossing Suffolk Avenue, just west of Eastern Avenue, when he was struck by a vehicle that fled about 3:20 a.m. A passing motorist found Gomez-Cuji lying in the roadway and called 911, police said.

Gomez-Cuji was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the office of the Suffolk County medical examiner, police said.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on this crash to call the Major Crime Bureau at 631-852-6555 or anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 800-220-8477.
