A Brentwood teenager was arrested after shooting a pellet gun “multiple times” at a Suffolk police car, the police said on Friday.
Daniel Rodriguez, 19, was sitting in the front seat of a car when he discharged the firearm at the police car, in “proximity” to two police officers who were returning to it.
The officers, who were not injured, stopped the car Rodriguez was in and arrested him.
They had been walking back to their vehicle after a traffic stop at the corner of Heyward Street and Madison Avenue in Brentwood.
Rodriguez, of Sportsman Place, also fired pellets that struck a vehicle parked on Walter Street, the police said.
Rodriguez is charged with reckless endangerment and criminal mischief.
His arraignment was set for Friday at the First District Court in Central Islip.
