Brian Tilts, of Mastic Beach, charged with possessing child pornography, assault rifles

A Mastic Beach man was arrested Friday and charged with possessing child pornography and assault rifles, Suffolk police said.
Digital Forensic Unit detectives, acting on a tip from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force Program, searched the home of Brian Tilts, 69, police said. The task force program is a network of 61 law enforcement agencies.
Seven high-capacity magazines and four assault rifles were seized from the home, police said. High-capacity magazines are ammunition-feeding devices that hold more than 10 rounds.
Tilts was charged with possessing a sexual performance by a child, promoting a sexual performance by a child, criminal possession of a weapon and four counts of criminal possession of an assault weapon.
Tilts was being held overnight at the Seventh Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned Saturday at First District Court in Central Islip, police said. It was not clear if he was represented by counsel.
