Instead of the usual targets depicted in heist movies, a wall-breaking burglar broke into a T-Mobile store in Bethpage, police said.

Alerted by the store's burglar alarm, officers spotted a man carrying a duffel bag running out of the front door about 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nassau County police said in a news release.

Despite injuring his leg while chasing the burglar, an officer kept pursuing him, police said. Anthony M. Lewis, 41, of Brentwood, was arrested with the aid of another Nassau police officer, who was off-duty.

Lewis evidently got into the store at 4020 Hempstead Tpke. by breaking into a vacant shop next to it and busting through the wall between them, police said. Police did not have information on how he broke the wall.

Police recovered stolen electronics and memory cards from Lewis, police said.

Lewis was charged with felonies, burglary and assault, and was scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday in First District Court in Hempstead, police said.
