A reward will be paid to anyone who can help identify whoever partly shattered the glass in 18 bus shelters last month, causing around $8,000 worth of damage, Suffolk police said Tuesday.
From Oct. 26 to 27, 12 of the shelters were damaged along the east and west sides of Nesconset Highway, between Gibbs Pond Road in Nesconset and Route 111 in Hauppauge, according to pictures the police released and their statement. That stretch is just over four miles.
Another six shelters were vandalized on Portion Road, between Nicolls Road in Farmingville and Ronkonkoma Avenue in Lake Ronkonkoma, the police said. That is just under a six-mile trip.
