Arrest made in shooting at Caboose Pub in Riverhead, police say
Riverhead police said they have arrested a Calverton man and charged him in connection with a shooting outside a Riverhead bar last month that left a man and woman seriously injured.
Rayquan Lee, 18, was arrested Tuesday and arraigned on a first-degree assault charge in Riverhead Justice Court before Judge Lori Hulse, police said. He was being held on bail of $1 million cash or $3 million bond, police said.
It was unclear late Tuesday whether Lee had retained an attorney. He was being held at the Suffolk jail.
The arrest stems from a Sept. 29 incident in the rear parking lot of The Caboose Pub at 133 Railroad Ave., where a 34-year-old woman and a 32-year-old man were shot following an argument at about 1:42 a.m., police said.
Police found the man in his vehicle. He was taken to the Peconic Bay Medical Center before being transferred to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore with serious injuries, officers said.
The woman also was taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center, officers said.
Police urge anyone with information about the case to contact the Riverhead Police Department at 631-727-4500.
