Nassau County detectives are searching for a man they said robbed a Valley Stream bank Wednesday afternoon.

Robbery Squad detectives said a man approached a teller inside the Capital One Bank branch at 356 N. Central Ave. and demanded cash shortly before 5 p.m. The teller complied and the suspect ran westbound on Clarendon Street with the cash.

Police said there were five employees and no customers in the bank at the time and no one was injured.

The suspect was described as standing 5 feet 8 inches tall with a thin build and wearing a black hooded jacket, black gloves and a scarf.

Detectives ask anyone with information about the incident to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
