Nassau police on Tuesday were seeking the public’s help in solving the homicide of Carlos Ventura-Zelaya, 24, in Roosevelt.

The victim was shot in front of a house at Hudson Avenue near Nassau Road at about 10:15 p.m. Friday.

Police have said they do not know why Ventura-Zelaya was at that location, and residents have said gunshots are an unfamiliar sound on the normally quiet block.
