Police are investigating the gunpoint robbery of a Selden ice cream store.

Suffolk County police said a gunman wearing “a hooded jacket” entered Carvel on Middle Country Road on Monday, pointed his handgun at the clerk — and demanded cash, which he got, before fleeing the scene on foot.

Police said the robbery took place at 5:54 p.m.

It was not clear how much money was taken.

Police said the robber was last seen headed southbound, on foot, on Blue Point Road.
