Charter bus hits overpass on Southern State Parkway, police say
The right lane of the eastbound Southern State Parkway was closed for hours near Exit 14 after a charter bus hit the overpass at Fletcher Avenue in North Valley Stream at 5:13 a.m. Wednesday, State Police said. Police said no one was injured.
Commercial vehicles are not allowed on the parkway.
Police said authorities closed the lane to remove the vehicle and to clear debris.
It was not immediately clear if the driver was issued a summons.
