A man robbed a bank Monday afternoon in Elmont and got away with an undisclosed amount of cash, Nassau County police said.

The man handed a note demanding money to a teller at 2:55 p.m. in the Chase Bank branch at 23939 Linden Blvd., police said.

The teller complied and the robber fled north through the bank parking lot toward 117th Road, police said.

He was described by police as being unshaven, with short dreadlocks, in his late 20s to 30s, 6-foot to 6-foot-2, 180 to 195 pounds, medium build, wearing a dark baseball cap with a blue rim, a blue hooded sweatshirt, khaki cargo pants and dark sneakers.

Police asked anyone with information about the robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-8477.
