Joseph Drago, 28, of Huntington Station accused of having child pornography
A Huntington Station man was charged Thursday with possession of child pornography after police said he solicited lewd videos from a Colorado girl.
Joseph Drago, 28, who police said is a tennis instructor, is accused of sending text messages with a 13-year-old girl. Police said he sent her pictures of gift cards in exchange for inappropriate videos.
Suffolk County police received a tip from the New York State Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force in a joint investigation with Tampa police.
Suffolk County digital forensics detectives served a search warrant Thursday afternoon at Drago’s home. Police said they found child pornography on his phone.
Drago was arrested at 12:30 p.m. Thursday and charged with promoting a sexual performance by a child and possessing a sexual performance by a child, both felonies. Drago was being held overnight and was scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Friday.
Detectives are asking anyone who may be a potential victim or with information about the case to call the Digital Forensics Unit at 631-852-6279.
