Suffolk police have arrested a Commack man they said exposed himself to a woman in the parking lot of the Walt Whitman Shops in Huntington Station last week.

Frank Lombardi, 48, of Commack Road was arrested in Elwood on Tuesday and charged with public lewdness. He was being held overnight at the Second Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday at First District Court in Central Islip.

Police said Lombardi was observed touching himself by a woman who was walking to her car about 6:15 p.m. Friday. The man had gestured to her to come over to his car, but she fled to her car when she realized what he was doing.

Second Squad detectives investigated the case and arrested Lombardi at Manor Road and Woods Court in Elwood about 5:15 p.m., police said, adding that Lombardi has 17 previous convictions for public lewdness dating to 1994. His attorney could not be reached for comment.

Police said anyone with information can call the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.
