Copiague gas station worker hurt in attempted robbery, cops say

A gas station employee suffered minor injuries during an attempted robbery late Saturday in Copiague, Suffolk County police said.
Two men wearing ski masks entered the Pilot gasoline station at 585 Montauk Hwy. around 9:50 p.m., according to police.
One of the men fired a silver handgun, but both men ran out of the store without any proceeds after employees fought them off, police said.
It wasn’t immediately known if the injured employee was hit by gunfire.
