The North Amityville Fire Department and Suffolk County police responded to a home on Remsen Street in Copiague for a report of two people shot about 10 p.m. Sunday.

The Suffolk County police said they are searching for whoever shot and wounded two people late Sunday in Copiague.

About 10 p.m., two groups became involved in a dispute in front of a Remsen Street residence when someone opened fire, hitting a 21-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man.

The shooter fled the scene on foot, police said.

The victims were taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries that were not life-threatening, police said.
