Five people, three of them from the same family, were arrested during a search-warrant raid in Freeport Wednesday and now face weapons and drug-possession charges, police said.

The raid at 85 Union St. was the result of a six-month investigation, Nassau County police said. Police seized two semiautomatic weapons as well as crack cocaine, oxycodone and methadone.

Arrested were three residents of the house: Eddie Vailes, 57, John Vailes, 28, and Aneesah Vailes, 24. Police could not immediately say how the three were related.

Also arrested were Malik Harris, 17, of 3 Charlick Pl. in Freeport, and Rashard Willis, 31, of 17 Davis St., of Roosevelt.

Police said John Vailes was charged with "multiple counts" of third-degree criminal sale and possession of a controlled substance and three counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Eddie Vailes and Willis were each charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance.

Aneesah Vailes and Harris were each charged with third-degree and fourth-degree possession of a dangerous weapon and fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance, according to police.

All five were scheduled for arraignment Thursday in First District Court, Hempstead.
