Cops ask for public’s help finding Rolex thief
Nassau police are hoping the public can help them find a suspect who they said impersonated someone to fraudulently purchase a Rolex watch that costs nearly $9,000 at the Roosevelt Field Mall in Garden City.
The suspect entered Tourneau, a luxury watch retailer of brands including Patek Philippe, Cartier, Breitling and Vacheron Constantin, at 6:18 p.m. on July 27 and opened an account using someone else’s personal information, police said. He then used the credit to buy a Rolex Submariner, which cost $8,550, police said.
Crime Stoppers is asking anyone who can identify the subject, or who has any information, to call 800-244-TIPS (8477). Police said that callers with tips can provide information anonymously.
