A Babylon man was charged Tuesday in connection with two bank crimes last month, an attempted bank robbery and a bank holdup, both within 30 minutes of each other, Suffolk police said.

On Nov. 14, Michael Mirasoli, 42, handed a note to the teller at the Chase bank on East Main Street in Bay Shore but ran off to a waiting vehicle without getting any cash, police said.

That was at 9:11 a.m. and about 30 minutes later, police said, Mirasoli took off with money from the Bank of America on Union Avenue in Holbrook.

He was held overnight to be arraigned Wednesday on charges of third-degree robbery and third-degree attempted robbery.
