Cops: Bay Shore woman driving while on drugs in Farmingdale

A 31-year-old Bay Shore woman was arrested Monday night on the Southern State Parkway and charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, state police said.
The arrest took place near Exit 31, Bethpage State Parkway, in Farmingdale at 8:01 p.m., police said. They said the driver, Tamika R. Trent, had been stopped about 10 minutes earlier for vehicle and traffic violations as she headed westbound in a 1997 Saturn.
Police said Trent was charged with DWAI, fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
Trent was found to possess marijuana that was "saturated" with PCP, police said.
Arraignment details were not immediately clear.
