Cops: Truck drives into Levittown backyard, damages pool

A Levittown man’s pickup truck plowed through a backyard fence and knocked down an aboveground swimming pool after colliding with another vehicle Sunday night, police said.
The driver then fled the scene, police said.
Andrew Zub, 40, was arrested at his home several hours after the accident, which occurred about one-half mile from his house, Nassau County police said.
The 53-year-old male driver and a 74-year-old female passenger in the other vehicle were taken to a hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening, police said.
Zub was driving his 2016 Dodge Ram south on Seamans Neck Road at about 9:15 p.m. when he collided with a 2002 Nissan at Holmes Street, police said.
He ran off the roadway, through a fence and into the backyard of a house that fronts on Ferris Road, police said. He fled the scene on foot, police said.
Zub was awaiting arraignment Monday in First District Court in Hempstead on charges of leaving the scene of an accident, leaving the scene of an accident where an injury occurred, failure to show a license, aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle and circumventing a court-ordered ignition interlock device, police said.
