Two Queens men face grand larceny charges and Nassau County police are looking for a third man after chasing a stolen van through Elmont and Queens Village late Tuesday.
Police said in a news release that the two men, both from Laurelton, were arrested on multiple charges after the chase that began in Elmont at about 10:30 p.m. and ended about 40 minutes later.
Taalib Quinshawn Webb-Burris, 20, of 219th Street, was arrested on Oak Park Drive in Douglaston about 11 p.m., according to the release.
Norel Thomas, 18, of 230th Street, was arrested on Douglaston Parkway in Little Neck about 11:05 p.m., attempting to steal another vehicle, police said.
Thomas was driving a 1995 Ford Econoline van with a Georgia license plate on Hempstead Turnpike when officers noticed the plate did not match the van.
When they tried to pull over the van, it sped off, with officers following it onto the Cross Island Parkway, police said.
Thomas then crashed into a guardrail on the Grand Central Parkway, and the three suspects fled, police said.
Officers from the Fifth and Third precincts, Crime Against Property Squad detectives and both the Nassau and NYPD aviation bureaus teamed to search the area, police said.
The third suspect was not found.
Webb-Burris and Thomas are charged with grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property — because the van was stolen — and unlawful fleeing.
Thomas additionally is being charged with attempted grand larceny, attempted possession of stolen property and reckless driving.
The two are scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
