A wrong-way drunken driver on the Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway hit another car early Monday, sending it careening into the woods and injuring its two occupants, police said.
Thomas Perotta, 24, of Syosset, was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and multiple traffic and vehicle violations, Nassau County police said.
Perotta suffered minor head trauma and will be arraigned on the charges when medically practical, police said.
Perotta was southbound in the northbound lanes of the expressway at Exit 9 in Bethpage about 2:52 a.m. when his 2016 Kia hit a 2007 Toyota, police said.
The Toyota hit a median, went into the woods and rolled over several times, police said.
The 48-year-old female driver of the Toyota and her 52-year-old male passenger suffered back and neck injuries and were treated at a hospital, police said.
