Elmont man had heroin, crack in his home, cops say

An Elmont man was arrested Tuesday on drug charges after what is believed to be heroin and crack were found in his home, Nassau County police said.

During an investigation that began in May 2017, detectives from the Narcotics/Vice Squad and the Nassau County COPE unit tracked Shalik D. Robinson, 38.

Police said they executed a search warrant at his home and discovered what is believed to be heroin and crack, empty glassine bags, two digital scales and an undetermined amount of money.

Robinson was arrested on Tuesday at 4:45 p.m.

He was charged with five counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and one count of criminal sale of a controlled substance.

He was arraigned Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead, where a judge set bail at $500,000 bond, $250,000 cash.

Robinson did not post bail, according to court records, and he is being represented by the Legal Aid Society, which does not comment on cases.
