A Copiague man is under arrest after he fled from police early this morning and crashed into an officer's car, according to Suffolk County Police.

Robert Wilcox, 20, was driving southbound on Route 109 in West Babylon around 2:20 a.m. when an officer attempted to stop him for vehicle and traffic violations, police said.

Wilcox fled, according to cops, crashing into a police car a short while later at Arnold Avenue and Learner Street.

He left his 2002 Sentra soon after and attempted to flee on foot, but was found and arrested around 2:40 a.m. on Woodbridge Court, police said.

Wilcox was charged with Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree, Unlawfully Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle and Reckless Driving.
