Cops: Four teens arrested for robbery
Four teens who police said robbed a pedestrian and a gas station attendant at gunpoint in Huntington and Huntington Station Sunday night were arrested a short time later by patrolling officers who spotted their gold getaway car in Greenlawn.
Suffolk County police said the foursome robbed a 54-year-old man walking near Pulaski Road and 1st Avenue in Huntington Station at 8:35 p.m., holding a rifle on him and stealing cash before fleeing in a 1999 gold Chrysler Sebring. Then, police said, the four drover to the M gas station on New York Avenue in Huntington and robbed the 58-year-old attendant -- one of the teens holding the rifle on him, the other holding a handgun to his head.
After the second robbery police said an alert with descriptions of the teens and their car was broadcast to officers and two Second Precinct patrol officers, Lawrence Mazzola and Jennifer Kosior, spotted the gold Sebring on Sexton Court. Police said the four teens were nearby.
Arrested were Roshawn Polight, 18, of Roosevelt Avenue, Greenlawn, Jari Harris, 19, of Carver Boulevard, Bellport, Kenyon O'Neal, 18, of Juanita Avenue, Huntington, and Isaih Giles, 16, of Lebkamp Avenue, Huntington.
All four were charged with first-degree robbery and are scheduled for arraignment Monday in First District Court, Central Islip.
