Cops: Freeport man who shot himself in the foot arrested

A Freeport man was arraigned on weapons charges after shooting himself in the foot, police said.
Hykiem Manning, 32, of Bedford Avenue was in Hempstead on Thursday at about 11 p.m. when he fired a gun, striking himself in the foot, Nassau County police said in a news release.
Manning was taken to a hospital for treatment, police said. He was arrested and arraigned on Friday, police said, and is charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
Bail was set at $30,000 bond or $20,000 cash, according to court records. He is represented by a Legal Aid attorney, court records show.
