Cops: Hempstead man had fake credit cards, counterfeit cash
A Hempstead man was scheduled for arraignment Sunday after Nassau County police said they found him in possession of three fake credit cards, a fraudulent North Carolina driver’s license and counterfeit $20 bills during a motor vehicle stop in Baldwin.
Kevin Patrick, 38, of Byrd Street, has been charged with multiple counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument, having no driver’s license, operating a vehicle without an Interlock device and turning without signaling.
An Interlock device is a breathalyzer for a vehicle.
Police said Patrick was stopped shortly before 2:30 p.m. Saturday and that he had 27 counterfeit $20 bills in his possession. They said further investigation revealed that his New York State driver’s license had been revoked and that he was driving a vehicle without an Interlock device although he is ordered by the court to drive only vehicles with the device.
Patrick is scheduled to be arraignment in First District Court in Hempstead.
