A man wearing dark pants, a dark baseball cap, sunglasses and a black "curly wig" walked into a Valley Stream restaurant Saturday night, flashed a handgun, yelled at everyone to "get down," then robbed the place, Nassau County police said.

No police are searching for the armed bandit.

The robbery took place at the Ay Caramba restaurant on West Merrick Road in Valley Stream at about 9:20 p.m.

Police said the man kept his hand on a handgun tucked into his waistband, but still reached over the counter, opened the register and stole cash.

Police did not say how much was stolen.

The armed robber then fled on Merrick Road headed toward Hookcreek Boulevard.

Police are asking anyone with information about the robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential, police said.
