Nassau County police are seeking the public’s help in gathering information about the shooting of a man early Sunday in Baldwin.

Police said the shooting happened shortly before 2 a.m. on Grand Avenue, police said in a news release.

According to detectives, the victim, 31, knocked on the door of the Valero gas station’s convenience store at 2054 Grand Ave. and told an employee that he had been shot in the left leg. He was taken to a hospital and admitted in stable condition, police said.

The victim, whom police did not identify, told authorities that he was walking near Grand Avenue when a male approached him and shot him once in the left leg.
