A man is in critical condition after being shot in the head at a house party in North Amityville early Sunday morning, Suffolk County police said.

Police responded to a 911 call made at about 2:45 a.m. reporting a man possibly shot at 50 Benjoe Dr. When officers arrived at the house, they found Arthur Armstrong, 32, of Bellport, lying in the backyard of the home with a gunshot wound to his head, police reported.

Armstrong was taken by North Amityville Rescue to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip in critical condition.
