Donovan Davis stole pit bull puppy in North Amityville, cops say

Suffolk County police arrested a North Amityville man they said stole a pit bull puppy Friday night.
First Precinct officers responded to Overland Avenue about 9 p.m. after receiving a report about a disturbance. Officers spoke to a man at the scene and noticed movement in his bag.
Police said the man pulled a pit bull puppy out of the bag and admitted to stealing it from a woman he had met with earlier in the day about buying the pet.
Police charged Donovan Davis, 23, of 3547 Great Neck Rd., with petit larceny. He was being held at the First Precinct and was scheduled to be arraigned Saturday at First District Court in Central Islip.
