Cops: More patrols after naked man reported at Massapequa Preserve
Nassau County police are stepping up patrols in the vicinity of Peter J. Schmitt Massapequa Preserve after a woman reported being approached by a naked man there on Wednesday.
A post in a Facebook group for local moms detailed the incident. The woman said she was rollerblading near the park’s Jerusalem Avenue entrance at about 12:30 p.m. when a man wearing only a hood over his head walked out of the woods and began to approach her.
The man fled back into the wooded area when a bicyclist rode by, the woman wrote. The post generated more than 200 comments and as many likes and reactions.
Police confirmed Friday that they received a report of the incident and are actively investigating. No one has been arrested. A spokeswoman said police have not received additional reports.
