Two Mount Sinai brothers were arrested Thursday morning after police said they found drugs, multiple weapons, bomb-making instructions and thousands in cash during an early morning search warrant execution.

During the 6 a.m. search at the home on Miller Place-Middle Island Road, police found a .40-caliber Glock, six assault rifles, four rifles, 25 high-capacity magazines, one shotgun, one stun gun, more than $40,000 in cash, about four ounces of marijuana, about 26 grams of hallucinogen (mushrooms), 14 knives and between 3,000 and 5,000 rounds of ammunition, police said.

Also seized was a binder containing bomb making instructions, scales, a cell phone, two computers and various Nazi paraphernalia and related books.

“This was a public threat on multiple fronts,” said Suffolk Police Commissioner Timothy Sini in a news conference.

“We have two individuals who clearly subscribe to a hateful violent ideology. Today’s search warrant might have prevented a deadly violent incident like the one we recently saw in Orlando.”

Edward Perkowski, 29, is charged with six counts of third degree criminal possession of a weapon, two counts of fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon, second degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and fourth degree criminal possession of marijuana.

Sean Perkowski, 25, who police said also lived in the home, was charged with an outstanding bench warrant issued by the Town of Babylon.

The Perkowskis are scheduled to be arraigned Friday at First District Court in Central Islip.

Thursday, Sini was accompanied by Town of Brookhaven Supervisor Edward Romaine and Legis. Sarah Anker.

“This was a house that was infected with a disease called hate,” Romaine said at the news conference.

In addition, Sini said the department is working closely with the joint terrorism task force, which includes the FBI. Police are also working closely with the federal bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms and Explosives.

The Town of Brookhaven has condemned the home for safety violations.

The search warrant, executed by detectives from the Sixth Precinct Special Operations Team, Criminal Intelligence section, Narcotics Section, officers from the Sixth Precinct Gang Unit, Canine Section and Emergency Service Section, police said.
