An Oceanside teenager was arrested Sunday night after he attacked another teen with a 17-inch metal pipe, police said.
James Lampp, 17, of 395 W. Windsor Pwy., "became embroiled" in a verbal dispute with another teen in Oceanside, drove his vehicle down the block, made a U-turn, returned and attacked him with the pipe, police said.
The victim, who is 16, was taken to South Nassau Communities Hospital for treatment. The wounds were not considered life-threatening.
Lampp was charged with second-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a dangerous weapon.
He is scheduled for arraignment Monday in First District Court in Hempstead.
Nassau County police said Lampp was behind the wheel of his 2009 Chevrolet when he became involved in the argument with the 16-year-old victim near the corner of Anchor and Messick avenues Sunday at about 9:20 p.m.
Lampp drove off - but made a U-turn and returned to where the 16-year-old was standing with friends, police said.
Lampp then exited the vehicle with the pipe, ran toward the victim and "did strike the victim several times with the pipe about the body, knocking him to the ground," police said.
Lampp struck the other teen "about the head and back," according to police. Lampp also bit the victim's thumb, police said. The condition of the victim was not immediately known Monday, police said.
