Cops probe Hempstead Chase bank robbery
He walked into the bank, handed a demand note to a teller — and then fled with the cash.
Now, Nassau County police robbery squad detectives are looking for the bank robber who held up the Chase bank branch on North Franklin Street in Hempstead late Thursday morning — and are asking your help in locating the man.
Police said the robbery occurred at 11:12 a.m., when the suspect passed the note to a 24-year-old teller, demanding cash.
There were six employees and one customer in the bank at the time. Police said there were no reported injuries.
Police did not detail how much was stolen, but said no weapon was seen during the robbery.
The suspect wore a dark baseball cap, dark glasses, a dark hooded Nike sweatshirt and dark sweatpants, police said. Police said he had braided hair and wore a goatee.
