Cops: Puppies stolen from LI pet store
Nassau Police are investigating the theft of two puppies from a Massapequa pet store, police said Sunday.
Five men and one woman conducted the Friday night heist, police said, with two of the men distracting store clerks at The Pet Company in Sunrise Mall while others hid the dogs in their jackets and fled the store.
Police described the dogs as a white-and-brown female Chinese crested and a black-and-white male cockalier. Both are said to be 10-to-12 weeks old and worth a combined $2,635.
Nassau Police asked that anyone with information about the dognapping contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
