Massapequa Park man stabbed during home invasion, cops say
A 22-year-old man was stabbed several times by someone who tried to rob him in his Massapequa Park home, police said.
The victim was asleep about 5:33 a.m. Sunday when he heard a noise inside the May Street house, Nassau County police said.
He encountered a man with a large kitchen knife who demanded money, police said.
The two men struggled and the victim was stabbed in both hands and in the chest, police said.
The victim’s aunt and uncle heard the struggle and came to help, police said.
The aunt was punched in the ribs, police said.
Both injured people were taken to hospitals, police said. Their conditions were not known.
The assailant, a man about 5 feet, 11 inches tall and about 20 to 25 years old, fled north on foot, police said.
