A pair of robbers — one with an ax and another with a crowbar — cleaned up at a Middle Island laundry early Friday, making off with an ATM.
Suffolk County police said the two men broke the glass on the front door of the Middle Island Laundromat at 1195 Middle Country Rd. at about 3 a.m.
The two then kicked an attendant and stole the ATM and some electronics prizes from a coin-operated claw-crane amusement game, police said.
The laundry was open at the time but the doors were locked, police said. The attendant was not injured.
