Two men robbed a Rockville Centre supermarket at gunpoint Saturday night and made off with cash from the store's safe, police said.

The robbery happened at a Waldbaum's on Ocean Avenue near Hempstead Avenue as the store closed for the day, according to Nassau police.

Around 10:03 p.m., authorities said, the thieves entered the store and, guns drawn, ordered five employees to get on the floor.

The men, dressed in black, then demanded that the store manager open the safe, officials said. They stuffed what police called an "undetermined" amount of cash in a black garbage bag, sprayed the manager with "an unknown substance," then fled with the cash, police said.

No one was reported hurt, cops said.

Detectives are asking anyone with information about this crime to call them anonymously through the Crime Stoppers hotline: 800-244-TIPS.
