Roslyn Heights teen tossed rocks onto vehicles on LIE, Cops say

Nassau detectives have arrested a 14-year-old Roslyn Heights boy and charged him with tossing rocks onto cars on the Long Island Expressway Wednesday afternoon, smashing the windshields of at least two vehicles, police said.

Third Squad detectives declined to reveal the identity of the juvenile, but they said he was with two other teenagers when the trio, while standing on a train trestle above the highway in Roslyn Heights between Exits 37 and 38, threw rocks down at eastbound vehicles.

There were no injuries in the 1:30 p.m. incident.

Highway Patrol officers investigated and charged the boy with four counts of first-degree reckless endangerment, and two counts of third-degree criminal mischief, police said.

The suspect is due to appear in Nassau Family Court on April 19.
