Nassau police want the public’s help in finding the suspect who tried to rob a Chinese food deliveryman Tuesday afternoon in Roosevelt.

The victim, 49, was in his car on East Greenwich Avenue about 2:24 p.m., when a would-be robber tried to pull open the driver’s side door, police said.

Fearing for his safety, the deliveryman drove away and called 911, police said. He was not injured.

The deliveryman described the assailant as someone in his late teens, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, police said. He wore a blue hoodie, police said.

Detectives ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS.
