Cops: Suitcase labeled ‘ISIS’ in Farmingville investigated

Suffolk County police are trying to determine who left a metal suitcase — with the acronym “ISIS” taped on its exterior — leaning on a utility pole in Farmingville on Friday morning.
A police spokeswoman said the suitcase was empty, after the department’s Bomb Squad used two robotic detection devices, an Avatar and a Remote Tech, at the scene.
A call for a suspicious package came in at about 8:45 a.m., police said.
Mooney Pond Road was closed in both directions between Rose Place and Pinehurst Court for about two hours for the investigation, police said.
The arson squad is investigating the incident, police said.
