Three teens — one 18 years old, the others 16 and 17 — were arrested Thursday in North Patchogue and charged in a recent string of burglaries in Medford, Ronkonkoma and North Patchogue, police said.

Suffolk County police said Peter Cadet, 18, of 167 Paddock Lane, Medford, and Luis Correa, 16, of 75 Green Ave., North Patchogue, were each charged with four counts of second-degree burglary. Demetri Rivera, 17, of 36 Rosedale Ave., Medford, was charged with six counts of second-degree burglary, police said.

All three are “suspected to have committed other burglaries in the area,” according to police, who said Friday the investigation is ongoing.

Police said the teens were arrested after witnesses reported seeing the trio fleeing a residence they had just burglarized on West Woodside Avenue in North Patchogue at around 11 a.m. Thursday. Officers and a K-9 unit responded to the scene, conducted what police called “an extensive search,” and finally located the three teens on Green Avenue.

Cadet, Rivera and Correa are all scheduled for arraignment Friday in First District Court in Central Islip, police said.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding the case to call Fifth Squad detectives at 1-631-854-8552 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
