Nassau County police say they have arrested one of the two men who assaulted and robbed a man on a street in Westbury on Tuesday.
Joshua Nembhard, 19, of Queen Street in Westbury, was arrested at 1:35 p.m. Wednesday and charged with robbery in the second degree, police said.
At his arraignment Thursday in First District Court in Nassau, Nembhard was ordered held on $37,500 cash bail or $75,000 bond. He is due back in court on Tuesday.
Nembhard and the accomplice punched and pushed their victim during the robbery on Post Avenue about 1:47 a.m. Tuesday, police said. The two men demanded and got an undisclosed amount of cash from the victim, and one of the robbers took a cellphone from the victim’s pants pockets, police said.
His accomplice is still at large, police said, and they asked anyone with information to call Nassau Crime Stoppers at 800-244-8477. All calls will be kept confidential.
