Cops: Woman kicks officer after DWI arrest
A Lynbrook woman was arrested on drunken-driving charges Friday but not before she kicked up a storm, Nassau County police said.
Second Precinct police said Jeanette H. Salit, 54, of 570 Broadway Apt. B35, was driving a 2004 black BMW at a high rate of speed on the Long Island Expressway in Plainview at about 12:29 a.m.
After being pulled over, Salit was found to be intoxicated, police said in a release.
"As the officer attempted to place the defendant into custody, she ignored his verbal commands and began to flail her arms and kick her legs at the officer's body and specifically his groin area," police said in a news release.
Salit is charged with attempted assault, resisting arrest, DWI and multiple vehicle and traffic violations, police said.
She is scheduled to be arraigned Saturday at First District Court in Hempstead.
