A Coram man has been charged with robbing a BP gas station in Medford at knifepoint Saturday night, Suffolk County police said.
There were no injuries, police said.
Police said the robbery happened shortly before 8 p.m. at the gas station on Expressway Drive South when the suspect, Kevin Hauff, 30, showed a knife and demanded money and the clerk complied.
Hauff then fled in a Hyundai Tucson but police found him at his home about 10:20 p.m. after an anonymous tip was received by Crime Stoppers.
Hauff was charged with first degree robbery and was scheduled for arraignment Sunday in First District Court in Central Islip.
