A woman was stabbed by her husband during a domestic dispute Friday morning in Coram, leaving her seriously wounded, police said.

The husband was in custody and charges are pending, Suffolk County police said.

Police did not identify either the suspect or the victim because of the nature of the incident.

Officers responded to the couple’s Country Club Drive residence at 9:30 a.m., after a 911 call disconnected, “and found the woman’s husband holding a knife,” police said in a statement.

“The man threatened officers with the weapon and then held the knife to himself,” police said.

Police used a stun gun to subdue the husband and took him into custody.

They then found the wife inside the home suffering from stab wounds and took her to Stony Brook University Hospital to be treated for her non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The husband was taken to the hospital for evaluation.

Suffolk police Sixth Squad detectives are investigating.
