Authorities responded shortly after 8 p.m. Friday to a home on Sequoia Lane in Coram after a 911 caller reported he was stabbed by his brother, police said. Credit: Christopher Sabella

A Coram man who police say stabbed his brother with a large knife Friday evening and then set a home on fire has been arrested.

Victor Brown, 29, was charged with first-degree assault, second-degree criminal contempt, second-degree menacing, and resisting arrest, Suffolk County police said.

Authorities responded shortly after 8 p.m. to a home on Sequoia Lane in Coram after a 911 caller reported he had been stabbed by his brother, police said.

Sometime after the stabbing, the house was set on fire, authorities said.

The name of the victim was not released. He was taken to a hospital and was being treated for serious injuries, police said.

Brown also was taken to a hospital, police said. Arraignment information wasn't available Saturday.
